\nThe NBHWC program approval is a rigorous process that identifies health and wellness coach training and education programs that have met the NBHWC-published standards<\/a> for preparing capable and competent health and wellness coaches. Graduates of this program are eligible to apply for the Health and Wellness Coaching Certifying Examination to become a National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC).\n<\/p>\n

\nThe Ginger Training Institute, Headspace Health<\/a>‘s training program designed to train the next generation of behavioral health coaches and clinicians in a fully virtual setting, provides multidisciplinary training, support, and mentorship based on a foundation of inclusion, diversity, belonging, equity, and access. The new approval from NBHWC builds on Ginger\u2019s industry-leading standards for its behavioral health coaches, which include master\u2019s-level education in a psychology-related field, over two years of relevant experience, and 200 hours of supervised training on the Ginger platform.\n<\/p>\n

\nThe newly approved program offers Ginger coaches an additional comprehensive, ten-month cohort-based curriculum led by a team of Ginger psychologists, psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, and NBC-HWC coaches. The program has a behavioral health orientation with an emphasis on delivering culturally responsive and identity-affirming care and is designed to help Ginger\u2019s coaches develop an awareness of both their own and their clients\u2019 intersecting identities as well as their environmental and societal realities.\n<\/p>\n

\nBehavioral health coaching takes an active, goal-oriented approach to address a wide array of sub-acute mental health challenges, ranging from sleep issues to communication struggles. Ginger\u2019s coaches are trained to identify the need for higher-level care and help to escalate members into therapy or psychiatry services when needed. They also support individuals through their entire care journey. This program provides an immersive experience that not only allows trainees to hone their skills in teletherapy, but also allows opportunities to develop skills in Ginger\u2019s multidisciplinary, team-based model.
