HUNTSVILLE, Ala.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#diagnostics<\/a>–Madison Core Laboratories, LLC (MCL) announces the appointment of Jerry C. Smith, a seasoned financial executive, as Chief Financial Officer (\u201cCFO\u201d).\n<\/p>\n

\nSmith brings to MCL a CPA background and over 25 years of experience in finance, accounting, revenue cycle management, and mergers and acquisitions in multiple sectors of healthcare and technology. He most recently served as Interim Chief Financial Officer of Legacy Hospice, LLC on behalf of Prairie Capital, L.P. a Chicago-based private equity firm.\n<\/p>\n

\n\u201cJerry\u2019s deep and extensive experience in leading the financial operations of healthcare businesses, and knowledge of complex revenue cycle management make him a great fit as the Company\u2019s CFO. His proven track record of driving revenue growth will be instrumental as we continue to position the Company for the future,\u201d said Carlo Crespo, MD, Chief Executive Officer of MCL.\n<\/p>\n

\nDuring his career, Smith has successfully served in CFO and senior-level positions. From 2013-2021, Smith was associated with early-stage rapid-growth MedWorksRx as CFO. MedWorksRx developed into Proxsys Rx, a comprehensive outpatient pharmacy solution for healthcare organizations. Between 2009 and 2011, Smith was CFO at Proxsys LLC, which was acquired by Athenahealth, a leading provider of cloud-based business services for physician practices and hospitals. He continued with Athenahealth as Vice President, Finance, and later served as Director of Enterprise Strategy for the organization. In this role, he dealt with both physicians and hospitals for their revenue management solutions.\n<\/p>\n

\nSmith\u2019s healthcare experience also includes serving with St. Vincent\u2019s Health System as Vice President, Finance and Director, Business Services, and Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer of USA Healthcare LLC.\n<\/p>\n

\nSmith holds a Bachelor of Science (BS), Accounting, cum laude from Samford University, Birmingham, AL. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Inactive and a Fellow (MHA Equivalent) of the Healthcare Advisory Board, Washington.\n<\/p>\n
