\nThe Ovation Research Network is the latest addition to the NIH\u2019s RADx Tech Variant Task Force, providing near-immediate tracking of SARS-CoV-2 variants<\/i>\n<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

CAMBRIDGE, Mass.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Cloud-based molecular Laboratory Information Management Software (LIMS) leader Ovation today announced the formal launch of the Ovation Research Network.\n<\/p>\n

\nThe Ovation Research Network<\/a> is a platform of clinical laboratories who use Ovation\u2019s LIMS solution and also contribute consented biospecimens for research purposes.\n<\/p>\n

\nThe Network is led by Ovation Co-founder and Chief Strategy Officer, Barry Wark. It currently consists of 21 independent, geographically and demographically diverse clinical labs across the U.S., with plans to double the number of labs by the end of 2022.\n<\/p>\n

\nThe Network provides a channel for labs to contribute to the discovery and development of novel precision therapies, while also providing an additional revenue stream to clinical labs who use Ovation\u2019s leading LIMS solution.\n<\/p>\n

\nToday, Ovation also announced the Network\u2019s participation in the National Institutes of Health’s Rapid Acceleration of Diagnostics (RADx\u00ae<\/i>) Tech Variant Task Force (VTF) by providing real-world input to a new cost-effective platform which tracks COVID-19 variants. Ovation\u2019s involvement broadens the platform\u2019s geographic diversity and provides greater insight into the spread and local prevalence of new variants.\n<\/p>\n

\nIn a recent Journal of Clinical Microbiology<\/a> <\/i>publication, the VTF team highlighted that known variants can be identified within one to two days using genotyping, which can be conducted for a fraction of the cost of next-generation sequencing. A public dashboard \u2013 the ROSALIND Tracker for COVID-19<\/a> \u2013 summarizes the team\u2019s ongoing SARS-CoV-2 surveillance data, including new BA.4 and BA.5 subvariant identification. Currently, this effort is used for research purposes only.\n<\/p>\n

\n\u201cOvation\u2019s participation expands the platform\u2019s geographic reach to rural and underserved populations, increasing the program\u2019s relevance for the broader U.S. population,\u201d said Clair O\u2019Donovan, Ph.D., a team leader with the RADx Tech VTF.\n<\/p>\n
