GREENBRAE, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–MarinHealth<\/a> today announced the launch of a new electronic health record system called APeX, the UCSF version of EPIC, the largest and most widely used medical record system in the world.\n<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

\nAPeX, which stands for Advancing Patient-Centered Excellence, is an integrated platform that helps to create a seamless experience through a patient\u2019s entire health journey, whether they are being cared for in a MarinHealth Medical Network clinic or at MarinHealth Medical Center. Providers in the clinic and hospital setting can access patient records, helping them to make more informed decisions related to the diagnosis and treatment plan. The new APeX platform will improve operational and clinical workflows to achieve the highest clinical outcomes, enhance the patient experience, and reduce administrative time.\n<\/p>\n

\nAs part of the APeX system, patients will have convenient, digital access to all their health information in one place through MyChart, a patient portal. Patients can access test results, appointments, and health information, and they can message their doctors using the app on their phone or computer.\n<\/p>\n

\n\u201cHaving access to consolidated medical records across different clinical areas will improve care when patients are referred to various specialists or other ancillary services at all MarinHealth locations,\u201d commented David Klein, MD, MarinHealth Medical Center\u2019s chief executive officer. \u201cAll providers and organizations using Epic can easily exchange patient data, which will greatly improve patient care. Providers also will have the ability to coordinate care with doctors outside of MarinHealth who serve their patients and their families, closing care gaps and reducing duplication.
