Additionally, almost twice as many Canadians\u2019 buying\/investment decisions are influenced by the treatment they receive from their company versus how a company behaves environmentally.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nThe Index found that Canadian workers are experiencing increasing strain with an unfavourable mental health score.\n<\/p>\n<ul class=\"bwlistdisc\">\n<li>\nThe Mental Health Index\u2122 score for July 2022 is 65.0 points out of one hundred, a slight increase from June\u2019s score of 64.1 points.\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\n<b>Canadian children are facing a range of negative impacts due to the events of the last two years<\/b>\n<\/p>\n<ul class=\"bwlistdisc\">\n<li>\nTwenty-seven per cent of Canadians report their children experience anxiety about the future due to events of the last two years. Additionally, children 15 years of age and older have more anxiety about the future than the Canadian average.\n<\/li>\n<li>\nTwenty-four per cent of Canadians report the events of the last two years have had negative impacts on their children\u2019s social development.\n<\/li>\n<li>\nTwenty-three per cent of individuals report the events of the last two years have had negative impacts on their children\u2019s academic development.\n<\/li>\n<li>\nOnly 39 per cent of Canadian parents report no major impact on their children. This group has a mental health score of 72.4, more than seven points higher than the national average.\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\n<b>Almost twice as many Canadians\u2019 buying\/investment decisions are influenced by how a company treats their employees versus the company\u2019s environmental behaviour<\/b>\n<\/p>\n<ul class=\"bwlistdisc\">\n<li>\nThirty-three per cent of respondents are influenced by how a brand\/company treats their employees.\n<\/li>\n<li>\nFifteen per cent of respondents are influenced by how a brand\/company responds to social justice issues.\n<\/li>\n<li>\nThirteen per cent of respondents are influenced by how a brand\/company behaves environmentally.\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\n<b>Comments from president and chief executive officer, Stephen Liptrap<\/b>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\u201c<!-- no quote -->When it comes to the disruption and isolations of the pandemic, children\u2019s mental health has been heavily impacted. All respondents reside in Canada and were employed within the last six months. The data has been statistically weighted to ensure the regional and gender composition of the sample reflect this population. The Mental Health Index\u2122 is published monthly, beginning April 2020, and compares against benchmark data collected in 2017, 2018, 2019.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nBeginning in May 2022, corresponding to the third year of the Mental Health Index\u2122 by LifeWorks, scores are represented as absolute. To create the Mental Health Index\u2122, a response scoring system is applied to turn individual responses into point values. Higher point values are associated with better mental health and less mental health risk.
