SAN DIEGO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–DirectMed Parts & Service, LLC (\u201cDirectMed\u201d), a leading medical imaging parts, systems, and service company, announced today that it has acquired ScanMed LLC (\u201cScanMed\u201d), a leader in MRI coil design, manufacture, and repair. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.\n<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

\nFounded in 2004 and based in Omaha, Nebraska, ScanMed is the most comprehensive OEM-certified MRI coil company with a proven track record of designing and repairing thousands of different MRI coils for GE Healthcare, Siemens, Philips, and Canon\/Toshiba systems, amongst others. The company\u2019s proprietary coils include the Procure\u2122 prostate coil, pediatric blanket and brain coils, spine, vascular, and several extremity coils.\n<\/p>\n

\nScanMed was founded by Dr. Randall Jones, an industry innovator with a doctorate in electrical engineering, and 30 years of experience in medical imaging. Dr. Jones and his team have been awarded 12 design patents and developed numerous trade secrets enabling ScanMed to be the foremost MRI depot-level coil repair partner for healthcare networks, independent service organizations and diagnostic imaging parts suppliers.\n<\/p>\n
