MEMPHIS, Tenn.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Representatives from the radio, television and digital media industries, as well as celebrities, influencers, record company executives and corporate partners attended the St. Jude Promesa y Esperanza<\/i>\u00ae<\/sup> seminar last weekend in support of the mission of St. Jude Children\u2019s Research Hospital<\/a>: Finding cures. Saving children.\u00ae<\/sup>\n<\/p>\n

\nThe seminar is held annually in preparation for the national Promesa y Esperanza<\/i> radio event that helps raise funds and awareness for the mission of St. Jude among Hispanic communities nationwide. This year\u2019s radio event takes place December 8-9, 2022\n<\/p>\n

\nRadio stations of varying Hispanic formats in 55 markets across the nation will participate in the two-day event including Univision Communications Inc., Bustos Media, TBLC Media, among others. The affinity and commitment to St. Jude is shared by the stations, their on-air personalities, and their audiences who are passionate about music and the St. Jude mission. Since its inception in 1997, Promesa y Esperanza<\/i> has raised more than $150 million to support the ongoing work by St. Jude to end childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases.\n<\/p>\n

\nTo understand the impact of their support, seminar attendees met patients such as Carlos, who came to St. Jude from El Salvador when he was just four years old and received treatment for two and a half years. Now 29, Carlos works for ALSAC<\/a>, the fundraising and awareness organization for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.\n<\/p>\n

\nThe seminar also hosted artist and celebrity guests including Broadway actress, Bianca Marroqu\u00edn, groups Los Huracanes del Norte and Conexi\u00f3n Divina, artists Luis Figueroa and Aron Luix, and Charly Perez, lead singer of Banda La Maravillosa, among others.\n<\/p>\n
