\nACOs using athenahealth\u2019s Population Health solution performed better than industry average on several key metrics, including average quality score1<\/sup><\/b><\/i>\n<\/p>\n

WATERTOWN, Mass.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–athenahealth, Inc., a leading provider of network-enabled software and services for medical groups and health systems nationwide, today announced that Accountable Care Organization (ACO) customers using its Population Health solution generated a total of $233 million in savings in the 2021 Medicare Shared Savings Program (MSSP), according to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).\n<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

\nathenahealth ACO customers outperformed the industry average on several important metrics, including average quality score and per-beneficiary generated savings. athenahealth ACO customers achieved an average quality score of 90.9% in 2021, which compares to a national average of 89.9%. In addition, in 2021 athenahealth customers generated savings of $691 per beneficiary, versus an industry average of $359.9. Moreover, 85% of athenahealth ACO customers earned MSSP payments, compared to approximately 58% across the industry.\n<\/p>\n
