GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Christina Barrington, vice president of pharmacy programs at Priority Health, will serve as president-elect of the 2023-2024 Board of Directors for the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy<\/a> (AMCP). She will then serve as president of the Board of Directors in 2024-2025.\n<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

\nAMCP is a professional organization dedicated to improving patient health by ensuring access to high-quality, cost-effective medications and other therapies. Barrington currently serves on the AMCP Board of Directors as treasurer and chair of the finance committee; she has also served three terms as president for the AMCP Midwest Affiliate.\n<\/p>\n

\n\u201cAs a longtime member of the AMCP board, I am honored to be elected to serve as president-elect and president to help advance the academy\u2019s strategic direction,\u201d said Barrington. \u201cI deeply believe in the academy\u2019s mission to find ways to help patients get the medications they need at a cost they can afford.\u201d\n<\/p>\n

\nAt Priority Health, Barrington is responsible for setting strategy for the pharmacy division and plays a key role in forecasting pharmacy trends and implementing innovative programs to manage and promote the strategic vision of Priority Health. She earned a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from St. Louis College of Pharmacy in Missouri and completed her residency in clinical pharmacy practice at University Medical Center in Jacksonville, Florida. Barrington formerly served as a member of the 2016 URAC Measures Advisory and Research Group, and as a board member for the Illinois Foundation for Quality Health Care, and on the National Diabetes Education Panel.\n<\/p>\n

\nBarrington will be sworn in at AMCP 2023 March 21-24 in San Antonio Texas.\n<\/p>\n
