MINNEAPOLIS–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Nystrom & Associates (\u201cNystrom\u201d) today held a ribbon cutting ceremony for a new behavioral health clinic in Fargo.\n<\/p>\n

<\/a>
<\/a><\/p>\n

\nThis is the company\u2019s first clinic in the state and its 53rd location across Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, and North Dakota.\n<\/p>\n

\nThe clinic opens for service on February 13 and will include in person and tele-therapy and psychiatry services.\n<\/p>\n

\nSeveral local officials were on hand today, including Fargo Mayor, Tim Mahoney.\n<\/p>\n

\n\u201cNystrom is an important addition to our community because it helps increase access to care for people struggling with mental health and addiction,\u201d he said.\n<\/p>\n

\nMore than 300,000 people in North Dakota live in a community without enough mental health professionals, according to the National Alliance on Mental Illness.\n<\/p>\n

\n\u201cOutpatient clinics like Nystrom can help people manage their mental health challenges, have a better quality of life and avoid getting care in more costly settings like emergency rooms,\u201d Mayor Mahoney said.\n<\/p>\n

\nMark Peterson, CEO of Nystrom & Associates, noted that this is the first of what the company hopes will be several locations throughout the state. \u201cWe see this as a real opportunity to improve access to mental health care at a time when more people are living with behavioral health conditions,\u201d he said.\n<\/p>\n

\n\u201cWe have a strong and caring team at the clinic with deep connections in this community,\u201d said Anh Le Kremer, Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel of Nystrom. \u201cWe are opening with several providers and will add to that over time.\u201d\n<\/p>\n

\nThe number of individuals suffering from mental health and substance use issues has increased nationally over the past few years. In North Dakota, nearly 30% reported symptoms of anxiety or depression in February of 2021, and more than 19% were unable to get needed counseling or therapy.\n<\/p>\n
