CHICAGO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#rural<\/a>—Chartis<\/a>, a comprehensive healthcare advisory firm, today unveiled the 2023 Top 100 Critical Access Hospitals and the 2023 Top 100 Rural & Community Hospitals. This annual recognition program, which is based on the results of the Chartis Rural Hospital Performance INDEX\u2122 recognizes outstanding performance among the nation\u2019s rural hospitals.\n<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

\n\u201cAcross the nation, top 100 rural providers continue to serve as a source of inspiration for hospital leadership teams and staff working diligently every day to improve the delivery of care within their local communities,\u201d said Michael Topchik<\/a>, National Leader, the Chartis Center for Rural Health. \u201cThe list of award winners in each category is as geographically diverse as we\u2019ve seen in some time, which is wonderful to see. We\u2019re thrilled to be able to honor the outstanding efforts of these top performing rural hospitals.\u201d\n<\/p>\n

\nAmong this year\u2019s honorees in the Critical Access Hospital category are two facilities winning their 12th<\/sup> Top 100 award, two hospitals being recognized for the 11th<\/sup> time and 25 first-time recipients. In the Rural & Community Hospital category, which was introduced in 2016, there are 17 hospitals earning their 8th<\/sup> Top 100 award and 13 facilities being recognized for the first time. \nNow in its 13th<\/sup> year, the INDEX is the industry\u2019s most comprehensive and objective assessment of rural hospital performance. Featuring a methodology utilizing publicly available data, the INDEX is leveraged nationwide by rural hospitals, health systems with rural affiliates, hospital associations and state offices of rural health to measure and monitor performance across a variety of areas impacting hospital operations and finance.\n<\/p>\n
