TORONTO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Toronto-based creatives Prairie “Mr. Koo” Koo<\/a> and Casey Bannerman<\/a> in collaboration with Chicago Bulls\u2019 Star, DeMar DeRozan, today announced the pre-order of a limited edition basketball jersey to commemorate May as Mental Health Awareness Month. Proceeds will go to charities supporting underserved youth across the country.<\/p>\n

\n\u201cI have always been a big fan of Bannerman\u2019s work, so I am very excited to finally be able to collaborate with him on something meaningful,\u201d said Prairie \u201cMr. Koo\u201d Koo. \u201cCreative inspiration is entirely subjective, so it was fun to mesh our worlds together.\u201d<\/p>\n

\nThe collaboration features a unique interpretation of Koo’s widely-popular geometric approach, which involves transforming the global symbol of mental health awareness, the semi-colon, as well as Bannerman’s creative take on athletes being superheroes. Together they will create a design that is memorable and impactful that emphasizes the importance of unlocking our own potential.<\/p>\n

\n\u201cDeMar is a force on and off the court and Prairie is just a creative genius, so it was exciting to put our collective heads together on this and create something meaningful,\u201d said Casey Bannerman. \u201cMental health is a really important topic and we hope, through this project, everyone understands how the power of creativity and self-expression can help get through even the toughest of times,\u201d continued Bannerman.<\/p>\n

\n\u201cIn training and in life, I am always trying to find the balance,\u201d said DeMar DeRozan, Small Forward, Chicago Bulls. \u201cI love what I do, playing basketball is everything, so finding balance is important to deal with the ups and downs of mental health.
