Paradiso, DVM, Vitrac Therapeutics.<\/p>\n<p>\nVIC-1911 is a highly selective, orally administered small molecule inhibitor of AURKA. Overexpression of the AURKA is found in multiple tumors, including NSCLC. New treatment approaches are urgently needed to mitigate and overcome resistance to KRAS G12C inhibitors.<\/p>\n<p>\nPreclinical studies indicate that AURKA could play a role in resistance to KRAS G12C inhibitors. VIC-1911, both as monotherapy and in combination with a KRAS G12C inhibitors sotorasib and adagrasib, has shown effectiveness against NSCLC with intrinsic and acquired resistance to KRAS G12C inhibitors in preclinical models. These findings suggest the potential of VIC-1911, both as a monotherapy and in combination with sotorasib, for patients with <i>KRASG12C<\/i>-mutated NSCLC.<\/p>\n<p>\n&#8220;We now have two approved KRAS G12C inhibitors, sotorasib and adagrasib, to treat patients with <i>KRAS G12C<\/i>-mutated NSCLC,&#8221; stated Sarah Goldberg, MD, Study Chair. &#8220;Despite the satisfactory response rates in patients na\u00efve to KRAS G12C inhibitor therapy, over 50% of patients exhibit primary resistance.
