(PMI) (NYSE: PM) on October 20 submitted Premarket Tobacco Product Applications (PMTAs) and Modified Risk Tobacco Product Applications (MRTPAs) for <i>IQOS ILUMA<\/i> heated tobacco products with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/mms.businesswire.com\/media\/20231020701959\/en\/1921569\/5\/Our_Logo.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mms.businesswire.com\/media\/20231020701959\/en\/1921569\/21\/Our_Logo.jpg\"><\/a><br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/mms.businesswire.com\/media\/20231020701959\/en\/1921569\/5\/Our_Logo.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mms.businesswire.com\/media\/20231020701959\/en\/1921569\/22\/Our_Logo.jpg\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\nA PMTA marketing order is required to commercialize any new tobacco product in the United States. The company is also seeking an order to market <i>IQOS<\/i> <i>ILUMA<\/i> products as modified risk products that reduce exposure to harmful, and potentially harmful chemicals, a claim <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fda.gov\/news-events\/press-announcements\/fda-authorizes-marketing-iqos-tobacco-heating-system-reduced-exposure-information\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" shape=\"rect\">authorized<\/a> for previous versions of <i>IQOS<\/i>.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"bwlistdisc\">\n<li>\nUnlike conventional cigarettes, <i>IQOS<\/i> products heat \u2014 but do not burn \u2014 tobacco<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"bwlistdisc\">\n<li>\n<i>IQOS ILUMA<\/i> products are PMI\u2019s most-innovative heated tobacco products.
