\nATCC, industry, government, advocacy, and academic leaders met with NSCEB Commissioners for pivotal discussions on the critical role of authenticated biomaterials in a secure and resilient bioeconomy<\/i><\/p>\n

MANASSAS, Va.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#Biomanufacturing<\/a>—ATCC<\/a>, the world\u2019s premier private, non-profit biological resources and standards organization, hosted an event today, Empowering the Future of Biotechnology Through Trusted Science<\/a>, <\/b>with the National Security Commission on Emerging Biotechnology (NSCEB<\/a>) at its headquarters in Manassas, Virginia as part of the NSCEB’s \u201cBiotech Across America\u201d roadshow<\/a>. The NSCEB met with ATCC leaders and key stakeholders from inside and outside the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia (DMV) Capital Region for a timely conversation on the future of biotechnology and biosecurity in the U.S. The event<\/a> focused on the critical role of infrastructure, workforce, and authenticated data and biomaterials in enabling and securing U.S. competitiveness in biotechnology.<\/p>\n

\nThe event featured a conversation with NSCEB Executive Director Caitlin Frazer<\/a> and NSCEB Commissioner Dawn Meyerriecks<\/a>, who explored the progress made since the NSCEB\u2019s report to Congress, Charting the Future of Biotechnology<\/a>, was released in April 2025, as well as the important role authenticated biological data will play in implementing the report\u2019s recommendations.<\/p>\n

\nKey industry leaders shared insights during a panel discussion titled \u201cBiotech\u2019s Backbone: The Role of Authenticated Inputs in a Secure and Resilient Bioeconomy,\u201d which was moderated by Founder of Blu Zone Bioscience & Supply Chain Solutions and Colonel (Ret), U.S. Army, Victor Suarez<\/a>.
