PENSACOLA, Fla.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Emergency Care Partners (“ECP”), a leading national provider of emergency medicine and emergency department management services for hospitals, today announced that David Copple has joined the company as National Chief Development Officer. Copple will be a member of ECP’s executive leadership team reporting to Chief Executive Officer, Bill Yarbrough.

In this role, Copple will oversee the physician group’s Business Development organization, which is responsible for ECP’s organic growth as well as its partnerships with existing, successful emergency medicine private practices. He joins ECP from Envision Healthcare, where he successfully helped grow the company for more than 25 years as Vice President of Practice Development.

“We are delighted to welcome David to our executive leadership team in this critical role as ECP enters its next phase of growth,” said CEO Bill Yarbrough. “David’s track record of creating quality growth in physician services and his alignment with our mission make him an invaluable addition to our team.”

“Emergency Care Partners is a leader and innovator in emergency medicine, and I look forward to leveraging my experience to continue ECP’s mission of enabling private emergency medicine groups, hospitals and health systems to offer their physicians the opportunity for practice ownership,” added David Copple. “Local alignment and ownership result in the best outcomes for the communities being served, and I am honored to be able to offer a true equity partnership model to physicians.”

ECP will continue to implement a service-intensive approach to managing emergency departments by leveraging its unique model, which equips local physician equity partnerships with its differentiated clinical analytics platform to deliver the highest level of care to patients across the country.

ECP remains a majority physician-held business and is backed by financial sponsors Varsity Healthcare Partners (“VHP”) and Regal Healthcare Capital Partners (“Regal”).

ECP currently services approximately 1,000,000 patient visits annually across operations at 43 sites of service, supported by a clinical workforce of 750+ physicians and mid-level providers. ECP employs a differentiated model relative to other platforms in the emergency medicine space, highlighted by the ability to maintain ownership through its physician partnership model and the ability for regional/local groups to maintain their branding and clinical autonomy while benefitting from ECP’s significant back-office infrastructure. This critical infrastructure includes resources for growth, support for revenue cycle, financial and operational reporting, recruiting, training, compliance, contracting, scheduling and payroll, among other functions. ECP’s affiliated medical groups also have access to the platform’s proprietary analytics platform, which operatively interfaces in real time with each hospital’s IT platform to track/report daily key performance indicators (KPI) in the emergency room. These include throughput, capacity utilization and clinical quality metrics and ancillary services reporting, which are used by ECP clinical/operational leaders and the hospitals themselves to drive quality service and outcomes and a consistent patient experience within each customer’s emergency department.
